A love for a Father in 2007

This morning, I was talking to my dad and at the end of our conversation he responded to me that he loved me. Not many fathers tell their own daughters that they love them. Many of you guys on myspace may not know what my father is all about but with one word I can describe who he is. He is one to have compassion for others. My father would go out of his way just to help my family, friends and myself with anything. I mean anything. There been many times I would be stuck in a situation and needed help. He would always be there to help me. He would always encourage me to finish on getting my degree when I had tough times at school. I am soon to finish at the end of this year. He would be my Friday night date to the movies when I was feeling lonely. Now, I'm in a great relationship with another man in my life that I am dating. My dad is my hero in my life. Sometimes the hero has to fall to the ground. I look at my dad dealing with colon cancer and fighting for his life with this darn disease. I feel helpless for him and I want to fix this problem but I can't. The only way I can be strong is to have faith in the Lord. I have to believe the Lord will heal him from this cancer. One day, I will see his healing come to pass in his body. For now I wait and pray.

I wrote this piece in 4.12.07**** on MySpace

March is Colon Cancer Awareness month.

My dad was a survivor for 1st time with colon cancer.

2nd time my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer. My dad passed away from colon cancer on 09.14.11

I promised myself that I would continue the rest of my life to get the word out of colon cancer to others.

Isaiah 53
4 Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.

What is True Beauty?

I wrote this article on May 4, 2006***

I was once in this Philosophy class and one of the questioned was being asked to the class on how to define the meaning of beauty? One man said that beauty can be defined on what the appearance is on the outside. It was the wrong answer as the teacher told him. One of the great philosopher Plato argued that the form of beauty is characterized sometimes by the kind of image.

In a sense in a society, we tend to look at beauty on what appearance on the outside. As a woman in today society, I had come to the conclusion that beauty is not everything. Singer Shakira said recently to Teen People, "Beauty is subject to its magical touch-ups. What we see on magazine covers as the model of beauty isn't real. I think that's very damaging. Some of the celebrities which they feel this pressure too."

I agree with Shakira on what she had said because all of us are real people and live in a real world with a certain perceptions of being beautiful which is so unrealistic.

We as a society need to look within a person and not judge only by beautiful appearances but by the heart. As a twenty-something woman also I have learned it not the self-image but the Lord can show us the true beauty within ourselves if we allow him inside of our hearts.

1 Peter 3:4:
4Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.

2013 will be Lucky year!!!!

2013 will be a good year! 13 is known to be a unlucky number but in my eyes it will be a good year! Last year was a good year for me but a few things which I need to change for the best. Everyone is trying to lose weight but I am changing  a few things in my life this new year. These are 10 things that I am changing!

One, social media. I noticed that I haven't been reading any books this last year. Yes, I am cutting out checking my Facebook every hour. I went old school to check my message on my computer instead of checking my messages on my Facebook App on my phone.

Two, working out! I need to have 1 hour at least working out and not having excuses for not working out.

Three, cut the credit cards. Since congress is changing the rules on our taxes. It is time save every penny in my pocket. No more credit cards!

Four, make more time time to socialize with friends. Time is short and so is the year!

Five, volunteer in my community. Make more time to give to others with my time instead of myself.

Six, take more photos and being creativity with my skills. Be useful in my free time!

Seven, watch what I eat! No sodas, or sugar snacks. Stay away from Junk food! Drink lots of water!

Eight, try to spend more time to take a vacation. I had no vacation last year. This year, I will make a point to find some time to have a break.

Nine, Give G-d more time! At times I lack reading his word or hear the word.

Ten, make more time to blog! Yes, I lack writing on the web. I promise to bring more interesting topics online. I am writer and this is what I am called to do.

America, America….. As we cry out for you

Today is voting in America. I am not going to talk politics in this entry. I have spoken about politics before but this time which I am keeping my mouth shut. It has been a stressful four years for all of us with many issues. Everyone has their reasons on who they are voting for this election in 2012. Prayer will be the most important fight for our nation tonight. Prayer will be in need for all the hurricane victims across the East coast especially in New Jersey & New York.

New Jersey is like a 2nd home to me. Every two years, I spend my holidays in New Jersey or in New York. My friends live in New Jersey & New York. It is heartbreak to see many of the cities in non- exist. Families are in tears of the lost of their homes and their neighborhoods. Most these folks did not know what was tomorrow going to bring when the hurricane hit their cities on October 29, 2012. Their lives may be broken now but tomorrow brings a new beginning for New York and New Jersey. My heart goes to all the families in New Jersey. We will stand behind you New York and New Jersey and also in prayer. We will give, give as much as we can. We love you, New York and New Jersey. People of New York and New Jersey...you are in the hands of the Lord.

Pink & Blue Ribbon

Pink Ribbon is sign of a fight from all woman fighters who have breast cancer or who had fought breast cancer. This October, I have noticed more pink ribbons are worn for breast cancer all month long. Each woman who is reading this blog please keep fighting for your healing in Jesus Name.

Blue Ribbon is worn who is fighting colon cancer or who have fought cancer. March is the month to wear the blue ribbon but I have decided to combine blue and pink together. Why? Cancer awareness is the real issue. We must find a cure for this ugly disease.

Recently, a friend of my dad’s who had passed away from colon cancer. I was saddened with the news but I know he is in heaven golfing with my dad on the heaven green fields.

See below of my pink and blue ribbon cancer awarness at Susan G. Komen Race at North Park Mall on 10.20.12.

" Why I Serve the Lord" By: Dan Rodriguez

This past weekend two families are mourning for their love ones who had passed away. My heart is with sadness of the love ones who had passed away. I did not know these two individuals very well but my heart breaks for all family members.

I am mourning the loss of my dad who passed away a year ago on September 14,2011. I have struggled all year missing my dad. Some of you guys miss my dad too. My dad encouraged you during difficult times in your past. Today, as I was going through my dad's written notes. I found this interesting note that will make you cry.

"Why I Serve the Lord” By: Dan Rodriguez 1999

I want God's word to continue to flow through me like a river of living water where there is no beginning and no end providing pure clean blessings from his word to all areas to all places to all people within reach.

I want my kids and all my family to do the same. I can not expect them to serve God if I'm not willing. Surely only good can come when we serve the living God who gives us all authority and power through Jesus Christ. To overcome the adversities of this world because of the Blood of the perfect lamb who died on that cross on Cavalry. Thank you Jesus for that amazing task that none of us could do.

I want to meet the people that we read everyday like Moses, Paul, Elijah, Daniel, David, and Joseph whom God used greatly in the assigned tasks in their life while they lived like you and I waiting for their savior to appear in the clouds with a loud trumpet. ( My dad said this quote to me few times.)

I want to make a difference even if it seems so small. I know that my redeemer lives within my heart and anything I do will be in the same body of Christ of whom we will not know until we all gather together with the Lord. We will find out all the pieces really did come together without loose ends.

I want to see Jesus and the Father whom we know is love, joy and everlasting. I want to tell the Lord that I love him and wish I could do so much more for him and his gospel.

I want to see my parents who I know made it with the Lord because they accepted Jesus in their lives before graduating home. I want to have so much more of him everyday. I know I can always use more of Jesus and less of me.

I want the Lord's word to spring out of me refreshing and enlightening those individuals who I know need a fresh shower of his word so life can begin to flow forth where there has only been emptiness and loneliness so shouts of JOY can come from these folks touched by his mercy and truth!

I want to take every individuals around me with me to God's home because I know many are lost, hurting, without hope. I want them to see the Lord while yet there is time, energy, and life left.

I want to walk on the streets of Gold. I've only seen very small amount of gold only on rings and chains and gold bars in pictures.

I want to see the chariot of fire Elijah rode in to Heaven. I want to talk to the man who moved God so much to do the mighty miracles while he lived on the earth.

I want to see all the Angels of the Lord for I know they are numerous as the Sea and more variety compared to the people on Earth. Having been made by our heavenly father.

I want to rest in the Lord knowing he has got me covered without having to look around for the opposition on every corner every crack everyday everywhere.

I want to spread this peace within my heart to others in turmoil and constant pain to release the much hurting the much afflicted from their bondage through our Lord and Savior Jesus.

If I don't do anything else, I want to be at least light to others to see that serving isn't about things, places, time, but a real significants relationships with the one and only Lord of who's name every tongue will confess and every knee will bow. A name above names that has earned our most deepest honor and gratitude that name would be Jesus Christ of Nazareth from Galilee who still today is saying to all man kind as he did to two brothers Simon and Peter while were fishing besides the sea of Galilee Follow me.

Be Ready

Who am I living for?

Myspace Life Graphics Quotes

"How do you define yourself as woman? Are you woman with a vision? Are you a single mother, mother of two, single gal, a married gal. I recently found myself one day as I was driving to work to ask myself of who I am? How do I define myself in life? As, I was hearing the words, “Who am I living for” sang by Katy Perry.... I found the words interesting from a famous singer to sing this song. I am using this song from everyday woman perspective. I can relate a lot to Katy Perry as she sings this song."

"It's never easy to be chosen, never easy to be called

Standing on the frontline when the bombs start to fall

I can see the heavens but I still hear the flames

Calling out my name

I can see the writing on the wall

I can't ignore this war

At the eh-end of it all

Who am I living for?

I can feel this light that's inside of me

Growing fast into a bolt of lightning

I know one spark will shock the world, yeah yeah

So I pray for a favour like Esther

I need your strength to handle the pressure

I know there will be sacrifice

But that's the price"

"To be called it not easy... front lines or behind the scenes. There are pressures of life. Life happens. There are many sacrifices that are made in your everyday job, your family life, in your ministry, in your school or even as mother, or single gal, from divorce or a break up. We all feel the pressures of life as woman. How do you define yourself? Are you positive with your life or depressed? Do you live your life as if it is your last day?"

"It's never easy to be chosen, never easy to be called

Standing on the frontline when the bombs start to fall

I can see the heavens but I still hear the flames

Calling out my name"

"Some of us are chosen to live a separate life from the world? I see myself so different. One night, I found myself from the crowds of people in this dance club. I watched the people from the distance unhappy, unsecure, a gal who wants to be loved from a guy, trying to find the right guy. I told myself... I am woman who is precious and different from the crowd. I am woman who is defining with love. I am woman who is there for others who are hurting. I have destiny and purpose in life that is more than about me."

"I can see the writing on the wall

I can't ignore this war

At the eh-end of it all

Who am I living for?

"I like the words she uses in this song... Who am I living for? Are you living for yourself or your living for the Lord’s standards?"

I can see the writing on the wall

I can't ignore this war

At the eh-end of it all

Who am I living for?

At the end, at the end

Who am I living for?

At the end, at the end

Who am I living for?

Heavy is the head that wears the crown

Don't let the greatness get you down

Heavy is the head that wears the crown

Don't let the greatness get you down, oh, oh yeah

Don’t let yourself be down but live your life as great one.

I like the end of this song. Don’t let your greatness down. Don’t let yourself be down when there are pressures of life. Your life is great one.

Life of Esther

"When the fateful day arrived, the Jews overcame their enemies (Esther 9:1-11). To express their thanks to God, the Jews instituted the Feast of Purim. The name of this feast is a reminder of Haman's casting of lots ( pur means "lot") and God's deliverance of the Jews from their enemies on the day they were to be annihilated (verses 17-32).
Esther, Jewish queen of gentile Persia, set a remarkable example of personal sacrifice. Although understandably at first hesitant, she willingly risked her life so others could be saved. In this respect she prefigured the sacrifice of the coming Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth, who willingly gave His life so each of us could have the opportunity to receive God's gift of salvation, eternal life in His Kingdom.
Similarly, Christ expects His followers, His saints, to be willing to put their lives on the line to follow Him (John 15:13)."
Check out more life of Esther in this website

Another verse to check from the Bible:

Luke 12:22-34

"Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

"Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
